Girl Scout Cookies And Weed?

To This Young Girl That Sounds Like Good Business

Recently, a very enterprising young Girl Scout said she sold 312 boxes of Girl Scout cookies outside of a San Diego marijuana shop over the weekend.

A Girl Scout reresentative in San Diego says they don't really know how to address the story of this Girl Scout selling cookies outside of a marijuana dispensary.

The good news is, the young Girl Scout was not alone. Her father was with her the entire day.

It remains unclear whether this Girl Scout broke any of the organization's rules when they sold the cookies in the Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego.

Even though the marijuana dispensary aided their mission by engaging social-media.

The GS rep said on Monday that Girl Scouts are prohibited from setting up booths outside commercial establishments without explicit permission from business owners on an approved list.

Well, since the pot shop itself did social media promotion for her I'd say they had permission. Although the organization did say that the weed shop was 'not on the approved booth site list.'

To get around that issue, Girl Scouts are allowed to sell cookies doing "walk-abouts" with a rolling cart, but only in residential areas.

"These door-to-door sales rules are in place to protect Girl Scouts and their families from getting citations for solicitation of cookies. Really? What kind of cop would give a Girl Scout a ticket for selling cookies. Uhm... yeah.

Anyway, this story has attracted national attention this week after the pot shop posted on Instragram on Saturday.  SEE photo on Instagram HERE.

In response to all of this, the rep for the Girls Scout said this:

"Approximately 14,000 girls participate in the Girl Scout cookie program. As Girl Scouts, we assume good intent. Should we become aware that a girl has repeated an infraction, there could be consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. We handle situations like this as we would a personnel issue … as a private matter between the family."

As long as she can keep selling in the vicinity of pot shops then I guess it's all good. I think the kid has a good business mind... maybe that came from her dad.  Watch below...
